Mehki Mehki Si Hawayein …

It is true that we don’t realize the value of a person or a thing when we have it. Little do we care to appreciate it on a day to day basis. Only when we are away from it or when we lose it, we realize how invaluable was it and then, sometimes, we just can’t do anything to recover; and yes, this happens for the most part in case of our loved ones or rather in case of that special someone … our beloved, our sweetheart, our darling.

It is true for any couple. There are moments when we take each other for granted and eventually end up hurting the other person unintentionally. Then when we are away; it could be for a week, a month, a year or may be forever, we cherish the moments that we happily spent together and badly want to be back again.

So, on a lonely day when all we have to ourselves is us and there is nothing around that we love, then all we could do is feel them in the air, remember all the good times and ask our loved ones to come back.

The same feeling is reflected in this song. For those who are away from their sweethearts and are badly missing them, try singing it with your eyes closed.

And hey, for those who have their sweethearts by their side, sing it for them. Sing it to thank them, appreciate them and say how much you would miss them when you are alone.

As for me, this song is dedicated to those days when I am away from my lovely wife on business tours and am badly missing her.

Now, the lyrics
[Mukhda]
Yeh mehki mehki si hawayein, Humko la rahi hai
Yaadein teri ..
Yeh mehki mehki si hawayein, Humko la rahi hai
Yaadein teri

Phir lage ke tu paas hai yahin kahin
Phir lage ke mere liye hi tu bani
Phir lage ke tu paas hai yahin kahin
Phir lage ke mere liye hi tu bani
Yeh mehki mehki si hawayein, Humko la rahi hai
Yaadein teri ..

[1st Antra]
Saundhi saundhi si khushbu, Jab kab bhi aaye
Halka Halka sa nasha, Hum par chad jaye
Mere dilka har tarana jhoomke gaye, Tere nagmo ki ladi jab dil pe chaye
Teri rahein takta hun, teri hi batein karta hun
Tera bina hun main adhoora, har din sabko kehta hun

[Repeat Mukhda]

[2nd Antra]
Aeh sanam ab aa bhi ja, kyun na mita de duriyan
Tere hi jalwe yun tadpayein
Seene mein tu hi basi hai, sason mein tu hi rasi hai
Tere bin ab khuch na bhaye

[Repeat Mukhda]

Bigger audience would mean more suggestions, criticism, improvement, enhancements and a better way to use this blog as one platform to discuss ideas on new tunes, music, melody and compositions.

Now, to the song “Sunto Le Dhadkano Ki Zubaan”; the one I had uploaded under the post “What Should Be The Genre?” on May 7th. Last week, while I was singing it again for a while, a new melody occurred to me. Composed a new antra and thought I should share it while it’s still fresh in our minds.

So let me know what you think. Good, Bad or Ugly?

Lyrics

----------------

[2nd Antra]

Yeah pani, hawa, agan

Tumhise hai

Yeah khushbu, fiza, kiran

Tumhise hai

Yeah rahein aur manzilein

Tumhise hai

Us khuda ki Rahmatein

Tumhise hai

Phir ayegi raas kaise

Tere bin zindagi

Jaan bhi to hai zalim

Jayegi na kabhi

Phir ayegi raas kaise

Tere bin zindagi

Jaan bhi to hai zalim

Jayegi na kabhi

Aeh meri Janeman tu jara,

Chod tadpana, ab aa bhi ja

[Repeat Mukhda]

Tumhise roshan hai zameen

Tumhise roshan asmaan

Tumhise payi har khushi

Tumhise har din hai jawaan

Aeh meri zindagi tu jara

Suntole dhadkano ki zubaan

Koi Rok Le Na Humein

Koi Rok Le Na Humein.mp3

We constantly strive for a better tomorrow. Doesn’t matter where we live, we always have our set of issues with the whole system … May it be Political, Educational, Health, etc; or we have our opinion about how the system should be governed, conducted. Well, just how we think things could be better around us. It could be as tiny as a community or a neighborhood issue; doesn’t need to be the whole system.

But we always talk about it. As teenagers we might be actively involved in supporting social causes, but as we grow older we always end up discussing about it or forming an opinion or just be frustrated about it and we really do nothing more than that.

Ok, don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to preach here or say that I am a better human being than others or that I am really going to start doing something about making things better around us. No, I am not going to revolutionize our system. But maybe if we can support a social cause during our daily activities or convey a social message with our talent then we shouldn’t hesitate.

Here is one such song.

Lyrics
----------------
[Mukhda]
Koi rok le na humein
Hum ruknewale nahin
Batein hawanse karne nikle sabhi

Rahi na rukenge, na zukenge
Ye ladhenge bande
Badlenge ye duniya
Karke Kayam
Apne acche karammmmmmmm ... oh woh

1st Antra
----------
Mangi milti nahi hai
Duniya mein koi khushi
Chinlo yeh kayda naya
Har koi apnata hai

Mehnat karni nahi hai
Par chahe thanka badi
Shortcut se paisa banana hai
Har kisika yahi sapna hai

Kayde fizul sabhi
Tod denge woh hum abhi
Shortcut nahi
Mehnat sikhlayenge

Rahi na rukenge, na zukenge
Ye ladhenge bande
Badlenge ye duniya
Karke Kayam
Apne acche karammmmmmmm ... oh woh

Filler
----------
O o o o .. woh o o o o o o o ...

2nd Antra
----------
Aaoo ... Subah nai hum jagaye
Aaoo .. Umeed aisi banaye
Aaoo .. Rahein nai dikhlayein
Aaoo .. Mayunsokon hum hasaye

Asman ke woh sitare
Layenge hum zameen par
Banke sahara sabka jitlayenge

Rahi na rukenge, na zukenge
Ye ladenge bande
Badlenge ye duniya
Karke Kayam
Apne acche karammmmmmmm ... oh woh

What Should Be The Genre?

This question comes across every once in a while. We have always seen in the past that solo performers classify their songs under a particular genre like Jazz, Blues, Pop, etc, whereas Motion Picture Soundtrack artists or Bollywood music composers are versatile and manage to compose songs over different genres.

I haven’t necessarily thought it through since I am not sure if I want to pursue it as a career one way or another. These compositions are solely based on the melodies that come to mind. Surprisingly, as an audience we are constantly exposed to songs from different genres and hence it seems any melody that may occur to us could belong to any genre.

However, if there is an opportunity to present these songs to a music company or even for any audience to get a grip of one’s song compositions, should it be necessary to classify your songs under one genre? Would it make more sense to someone if you had to present 10 song compositions and that every single one of them felt similar to other; that way the person listening to would understand your style. Or whether every single song should be different? Would it happen that then the audience wouldn’t know your style and hence songs would be nothing more than just plain simple noise … Well, that’s the question that constantly haunts me. May be I should have a poll for this.

Also, I must admit. I am naive when it comes to music. I have so far being able to classify these songs under different genres. But honestly, the visitors who truly understand music would declare it wrong. So the easy solution to this (came from my wife) should be to let the audience decide your song genres.

So today’s song is a little towards the Sufi style. But I could be wrong. I will let you decide, what do you think should be the Genre?

Lyrics …
[Mukhda]
Tumhise roshan hai zameen
Tumhise roshan asmaan
Tumhise payi har khushi
Tumhise har din hai jawaan

Aeh meri zindagi tu jara
Suntole dhadkano ki zubaan

Tumhise roshan hai zameen
Tumhise roshan asmaan

[1st Antra]
Suni Suni lag rahi ...
Tere Bin Zindagi ...
Chaye dilpe khamoshi ...
Dur tu jab chali ....

Tumse hai saikdon jannate ...
Tum ho kya tum nahi jante ..

Tumse hai saikdon jannate ...
Tum ho kya tum nahi jante ..

Aeh meri dilnashin tu jara
de to de darde dil ki dawaan

[Repeat Mukhda]
