That’s All That Matters

A while ago, I read a story about a man who was one of the most renowned artists in the 18th Century. His paintings were admired across the world and he had many accolades to his name for his fine art. He was highly passionate about his paintings. However, he had one problem. Every time he got terribly upset about something he would go down to the attic, pick up a masterpiece and burn it down.

It may sound shocking, but the reality is that we have it in all of us. And sometimes it may not just be related to our work or our hobby, but whenever we are terribly upset we end up hurting our nearest and dearest. No matter how much we regret later, but just as the painter wasn’t be able to re-create the masterpiece, we won’t be able to rebuild our relationship with our dear ones.

Such is the essence of this song. What really matters in life is to value the ones that are close to you and value the ones that care about you and the ones that are there to support you. Don’t take anybody for granted and enjoy the moments you spend with them.

Here’s a suggestion to get you in the mood. Imaging yourself riding a convertible Jeep Wrangler, holding hands with your beloved, driving along the coast of an ocean, wandering crazily with no clue where you are going, enjoying the scenery, enjoying the company and singing ... That’s all that matters.
