Have you ever watched a movie and felt there should have been more. Such movies manage to create an impact on our thought process. They always leave us wanting for more and we are badly left craving for a sequel. Unfortunately, whenever they come up with the sequel, they miserably fail and we are always left unsatisfied. There are only a few movies where the sequels have lived up to our expectations; in some cases have even been better than the first part.
This exact same process occurs during music composition except for the latter part. The moment you come up with a tune, you are left craving for the lyrics and the moment you finish the beginning of a song you can’t wait to compose the “Antras” or the next “Verse”. It never gets boring. Believe it or not, certain tunes are so mesmerizing that you don’t even realize where to stop. There would have been more than one occurrence, where I may have thought of composing an additional verse every time I finished the prior. I had to stop at some point coz you can’t potentially have 10 verses in one song. That’s unheard of.
With the same thought, this time I am uploading an incomplete song. Frankly speaking, given my recent busy schedule, it was getting tougher and tougher to stay consistent with the blog. Especially, if I had to finish every song, along with musical arrangements, uploading the song and writing the blog .. ugh. But as I composed this song, I thought of sharing it with you right away. So here it is.
Hopefully, it will keep you wanting for more and as and when I finish it up, you might enjoy it even more. Better yet, I would actually like to invite you to help me finish this song. Provide me your inputs on what you think should be the lyrics for the “Antra”. If you can’t come up with the lyrics, you could just record a tune for the “Antra’’. Recording is easy. Just use your Internet Chat Mic and use a free recording software like Audacity to record the tune or vocals. I have a public shared folder on Box.net where you could upload it. So don’t miss out.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO CONTRIBUTE
Here are the lyrics so far –
[Mukhda]
Hone do subah, Hone do shamein
Zukne do ghata, Mudne do rahein
Oh humein kya, Hum baithe rahen yuhin,
Teri Bahon me, Yahan
Aur tere har taraf, Jhoome yeh zameen
Aur jhoome, Aasman ….. oh oh
[Repeat Mukhda]
Hone do subah.mp3

Hey Jitendra,
First of all....awesome singing dude...loved Har ghadi hai juda..brilliant...must admit have'nt checked out ur rest of the songs...but cant wait to listen
Can totally understand how feel....like to compose songs myself and can totally understand the frustration of letting an awesome tune be without the lyrics...its like having lovely bridal dress with glittering jewellery bedecked with diamonds....but no bride!! :-)
neways its fantastic that u compose..i'll send u some of my tunes...if u can have a blitzkrieg of idea for some great lyrics...do let me know!!
Cheers
Harshad
Hey Harshad,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I loved your analogy. It's amazing to find out that you compose too. I knew for sure that you were creative. I still remember the funny skits you and I did from "Whose line is it anyway?". Remember?
Yeah, send me your tunes. I have a
spot on Box.net where I can add you as a collaborator.
Also, do send me some suggestions on what should be the next verse of "Hone Do Subah". It would be fun to collaborate.
Regards,
Jitendra
