Here’s another one on guitar. The strumming pattern is a little different than normal. It’s not continuous and gives the song a peppy feel. Imagine it with drums and lead guitar and the song would be complete. Ha ha .. that’s asking too much of you guys.
Speaking of the song, this one in particular evolved while I was playing around with my guitar. I was trying different chord combinations and strumming patterns and suddenly I came up with this melody along with the lyrics. That rarely happens. Later I finished the song without my guitar and of course the most difficult task was to put it all back together; especially, the second “antra”. I had to rip it off cause I just couldn’t fit it in. The main reason being it takes the song to a different level and in most cases when that happens in a song you need what’s called a ‘bridge’. That’s nothing but a different set of chords that would transition from the ones you were already using. The transition has to be smooth so that the audience doesn’t catch it. Well, with my limited knowledge and time I couldn’t do it. So, the second “antra” is not in the recording, but I have kept it in the lyrics section below. Take the liberty to sing it whichever way you like. You may also notice that the singing is not the best either. There are several flaws. So please pardon me for it.
I hope you still enjoy the recording with just one “antra”. There will be several occasions later to finish the song and re upload it as I progress. Believe me each one of these songs will go through several revisions and the final rendition would be way different from what you are listening today. But, the most amazing part about this whole experience is the journey that all of you are part of.
So stay on board and see ya next Friday.
Here are the lyrics and you can play the song from the Player at the very end of the lyrics or from the Playlist on the right hand side –
[Mukhda]
Behki Hawayein, behkane do
Dilko humare, dhadkane do
Jadoo is dil pe hota hai,
Jo saath tera milta hai
Tum bhi to dil ko behkene do,
behkene do na
Behki Hawayein, behkane do
Dilko humare, dhadkane do
Jadoo is dil pe hota hai,
Jo saath tera milta hai
Tum bhi to dil ko behkene do,
behkene do na
[1st Antra]
Dekho surmayain, Shamein lagti hai
Dekho shabnami, Chandani lagti hai
Halka halka nasha hai dil pe
Dhundli dhundli nazar hai tere pyar mein
Chal sang humare, sapno ke ghar
Zume zameen par, shamon seher
Gaye khushi ke geet hum
Ho ke deewane umrabhar
Khushiyon ke badal barasne do
barasne do na
[2nd Antra]
Humko humesha tum yun rulaon na,
Yun paas aake dur tum jao na
Dekho aayi hai maujon ki woh ladi
Jiski humne ki thi umeedein badi
Deewane dil ko shambalona
Jaage hai armaan rukh jao na
Jadoo is dil pe hota hai,
Jo saath tera milta hai
Tum bhi to dil ko behkene do,
behkene do na
[Repeat Mukhda]
